Project’s steps

Our impact

In a time of political uncertainty across Europe, with rising extremism and growing mistrust in democracy, third places offer much‑needed collective relief.
Rooted in their communities, they rebuild social ties, support civic discussion and spark shared action. Open, collaborative and welcoming, they gather citizens, groups, businesses and public actors around local, participatory projects.

AGORA 2030 was created in this context. The project offers a new way to support a fair transition by strengthening the role of community spaces as places for citizen participation across Europe. It aims to raise public awareness of climate issues, share clear and reliable information, combat climate scepticism, and build citizens’ ability to take action.

Through cooperation between European third places, AGORA 2030 supports the sharing of content, tools, and collective intelligence methods, helping organisations with limited resources carry out ambitious awareness‑raising activities.
The project also aims to strengthen dialogue between third places and public authorities, especially local governments, by highlighting these spaces as drivers of democratic participation and a fair transition.
